osm2pgsql version 0.86.0 has been released. This mainly a maintenance
release with no major code changes. The most notable feature is a
complete documentation rewrite
(https://github.com/openstreetmap/osm2pgsql/blob/master/README.md) with
additional documentation in docs/*.md
The code has been stable for some time, and I am not aware of any reason
not to update to 0.86.0 for production servers. In fact, it may be
required on systems with recent protobuf headers.
This is expected to be the last C release* of osm2pgsql. osm2pgsql
should shortly be moving to C++, following the merger of
https://github.com/openstreetmap/osm2pgsql/pull/187
* Technically osm2pgsql is an arcane mix of C and C++ right now.
