Hi, there are some initiative or project to resolve geonames at OSM? ... I am new in this list, sorry if doing some misconceptions.
I am looking for a OSM's webservice where we can request a canonical place name, and it returns the polygon associated with the place? See also a draft proposal at https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Drafts/Canonical_names Peter
