I did try the standalone deployment as described in 
<https://github.com/apache/openwhisk/tree/master/tools/ubuntu-setup> and 
deployed using ansible as in 
<https://github.com/apache/openwhisk/blob/master/ansible/README.md>.

I tried to generate certificate from certbot checking Apache and Ubuntu 18.04, 
but was stuck when they required a domain which I didn't have or just didn't 
know.

step created a certificate with localhost as the domain name - it is an 
unsigned certificate and why you need `wsk -i`
