I thought I’d update y’all on our release status. We’re kind of in limbo. The source code is in good shape for a release: the big new features (lattice, interpreter, factoring out SqlRun) are in good shape, the test suite passes, and I made a release candidate yesterday [1] based on 6801257 [2].
But we’re part way through the renaming process [3], and blocked until infrastructure completes the various tasks. I want to move forward, so that we maintain momentum of a release every 4-6 weeks. We need to wait for just the most important sub-task to be complete, renaming optiq to calcite in Nexus [4], then I will start a vote on the current release candidate. The web site, mailing lists, and JIRA still have “optiq” in their names, but the tar balls and maven artifacts are called “calcite”.
