ORC has a lot of potential but our science community has largely standardized on Python. Any chance ORC will support Python natively in the future? What would be the approximate level of effort? An example use case is storing the data in ORC format and reading into datashader ( www.anaconda.com/blog/developer-blog/analyzing-and-visualizing-big-data-interactively-your-laptop-datashading-2010-us/ ).
