I've been preparing Apache ORC 1.6.13.

Recently, there were two JIRA issues, ORC-1075 and ORC-1082,
which we concluded that Apache ORC writers do not generate those files.
Both ORC-1075 and ORC-1082 are currently retargeted into the improvement
JIRAs
aiming to provide more robust read capabilities for 3rd-party-generated ORC
files.
ORC-1075: Support reading ORC files with no column statistics (Target:
1.8.0)
ORC-1082: Improve FileDump and JsonFileDump to be robust on missing
column statistics (Target: 1.7.3)
If there are no blocker issues, I'll start a new RC for Apache ORC 1.6.13
tomorrow.
