While the ORC 2.x line continues to evolve, the ORC 1.x series remains
actively maintained. The Apache ORC PMC strongly recommends all users of
ORC 1.x to upgrade to version 1.9.7, as it includes a critical fix and
represents the latest maintenance release in the 1.x line.
