Highlights:
+ John is going to proceed with the merge tomorrow morning.
+ We expect 4 unit tests to break (TestCertstore, TestCollections, TestTimeZone, TestScripting); we don't think the cause of the unit test breakage causes problems in the application.

Please be conservative in making changes to the trunk while John is working on the merge. Once John is done with the merge, we'd like folks to focus on critical "m5 blocker" bugs.

... more gory details ...

We've made good progress on fixing the most outstanding problems: the performance on the branch is much snappier and John fixed a key bug wrt filtered collections in the sidebar. We're happy enough with the current state of the acceptance tests to proceed with the merge.

We have a new problem -- a few unit tests started breaking after a change Monday evening. We haven't completely tracked down the issue, but we think it is related to code that supports legacy parcels.

Unfortunately, nature is not smiling on us. As a hurricane is headed Phillip's way, he's likely to be offline dealing with it tomorrow. (Good luck Phillip!) We think he'll likely have a quick fix to our unit test problem, once he's back. Andi has a fix that appears to work, but our confidence in that fix is a little shaky.

As the unit test failures do not appear to cause problems with running or testing the app, we are going to proceed with the merge anyway, and continue to try and fix the problems revealed by the tests.

Cheers,
Katie
