We have a bad practice in the project of sending "private" (i.e. not to dev@ or any other public place) e-mail when working on bugs (or even whole branches).  It would be much much better to have these kinds of discussions being recorded either in bugzilla or in e-mail.

I was just talking with bear about some stuff we could do now for some of this - one option would be, that when you check in, if your comment includes a bug number (i.e. matches \d\d\d or something) then a message might be appended to the bug in bugzilla with the comment and the revision number.... so at least you don't have to answer the what/how/why question in two places. I think that would be pretty cool but I don't know how much work that involves.
I remember hearing that  we were looking at a patch to bugzilla that would allow updating a bug via e-mail instead of the web form.   I  for one would be very interested in having this capability.

I've heard rumors of this for bugzilla for a while, and bear says he thinks it might be going into the next bugzilla revision (2.20 or 2.22?) but that isn't out yet.
