I just learned that there are layers above wxPython available that make
wxPython more Pythonic. Two were mentioned:

Dabo: http://dabodev.com/
Wax: http://sourceforge.net/projects/waxgui or maybe
http://zephyrfalcon.org/labs/dope_on_wax.html

According to some comments in the comp.lang.python newsgroup, Wax may be
nearly catatonic (although very recent release seems to have happened).

Not sure if the supposedly easier and higher level APIs of those layers
would help us much, since we have issues with wxWidgets itself. Anybody
have any experience with them?
