Phillip, are you planning to talk about PythonEggs?
I wasn't planning on it, as I think Ian Bicking's likely to do a
better job of it. His WSGI presentation this year was superb, far
better than anything I would've done. And he's already got a nice
slideshow about eggs and setuptools for a talk he's already given
at a local PUG, so he's even got practice. Plus, having other
people give talks about stuff makes it look like there's a lot more
interest in the subject out there. :)
Are you sure he is planning to talk?
Yeah, he wrote me to make sure I wasn't doing one. He described his as "a
tutorial on making pluggable applications using Eggs (and associated
tools)". I can double-check with him, of course.
The amusing thing at this point is that there are lots of people out there
who now have more experience using eggs, creating plugins, etc., than I
have. I mean, I just designed and implemented this stuff, I'm not actually
using it yet. ;) That won't really change until we start using it for
Chandler, since I spend very little time on other open-source stuff these days.
