Hi everyone,
We've recently added some new logical types to the parquet-format
project in PARQUET-12. Before we can add those types to parquet-mr, we
need to do a release of parquet-format.
I also know that the first release under Apache involves quite a few
required changes, like updating the build, adding a NOTICE file, and so
on. So I think it makes a lot of sense to do a parquet-format release
first to get an idea of all the work that will be required for a
parquet-mr release.
I'm volunteering to be release manager for com.twitter:parquet-format
2.2.0, as well as a subsequent org.apache.parquet:parquet-format 2.3.0
that changes the package names to org.apache.
The changes for this proposed release are:
* Add field_id to SchemaElement (optional)
* Add new ConvertedTypes (PARQUET-12)
* Documentation updates
