Hi nisen, A 'lens' is (simplest example) the piece of glass in your eyeglasses or the pieces of glass in a telescope, microscope, etc.
A lens bends light to allow us to see things better. A GUI for viewing / introspecting / modifying PDF documents is analogous to a 'lens' with which to 'see' the document better. I hope this is helpful. -Mel -----Original Message----- From: nisen [mailto:nisen...@gmail.com] Sent: Thursday, February 25, 2010 9:02 AM To: dev@pdfbox.apache.org Subject: Re: [idea] PdfReader In Google Summer of Code 2010 what mean is "Lens" ? Is There no more meaning ? I have no good title. I think you can give more name, then we disscuss it. I have found that the greatest demand is pdf debugging. So I started gui base PDFDebugger operate a tree through the visualization。Modify properties then generated a pdf file。 2010/2/25 Daniel Wilson <williamstonconsult...@gmail.com>: > Yeah, I like that. > +1 for PDFLens. > > On Wed, Feb 24, 2010 at 12:16 PM, Martinez, Mel - 1004 - MITLL < > m.marti...@ll.mit.edu> wrote: > >> What about 'PDFLens' --> implies the viewer and any introspection >> capabilities. >> >> Doesn't sell editing capabilities, but I don't think that should be a big >> deal. >> >> Just tossing it into the ring ... :-) >> >> Mel >> >> Dr. Mel Martinez >> m.marti...@ll.mit.edu >> >> -----Original Message----- >> From: a...@swmc.com [mailto:a...@swmc.com] >> Sent: Wednesday, February 24, 2010 12:11 PM >> To: dev@pdfbox.apache.org >> Cc: dev@pdfbox.apache.org >> Subject: Re: [idea] PdfReader In Google Summer of Code 2010 >> >> PDFDbg is good if the target audience is developers & researchers.
