This is related to a poor method of choosing existing fonts if a specific awt
font isn't available. I've been using a solution for myself for a long time
that can render files like that one nicely, see PDFBOX-1701 (doesn't have my
current code). John's change would probably make that obsolete. If not, I'll
modify my solution accordingly.
