Seth Freeman commented on PDFBOX-3111:
--------------------------------------

I understand that time is tight. I've looked at the test cases and it looks
like what I need is in there. I understand it might not be possible anytime
soon and have been looking into another work around on my end. If I had more
time to understand the acroForm structure I'd add a pull request to see if I
could make some progress on it. I feel like if I was to try that, with where I
am right now, I'd be grasping at straws and losing time, at least for this
project. Thank you for your work.

> When PDFs containing interactive forms are merged using Acrobat, fields with
> the same name are merged into one. That's different to the current behavior
> of PDFBox which renames to be merged fields so they have a unique name (see
> PDFBOX-3094).
> In addition Acrobat supports merging documents with interactive forms into
> collections when keeping the existing (duplicate) fields is required.
