I like the idea to switch the website build to a maven based tooling as it
simplifies the local generation.
IMHO the usage of the .asf.yaml features has two advantages
* an automatic website build triggered by checkins including a staging area
* more simple workflow for contributions from non committers. I can't remember
any in the past, but maybe there will be some in the future :-)
