Tilman Hausherr commented on PDFBOX-5167:
-----------------------------------------

It's definitively not supported by PDFBox and it's the first time I hear about
this.

PDX is Adobe Acrobat Catalog Index file, available in Adobe Acrobat versions 2
and later.
When created, a PDF Catalog Index will also create a number of dependent
sub-files of specific filetypes.
The extensions for these filetypes within earlier versions of .pdx are .wld,
.abt, .did, .ddd, .pdd, .plc, .cat, .trn.
In later versions only .idx files are created.
The Catalog Index creates a fully text-searchable relationship between the
indexed pdf files.

> We have huge studies PDF in internet in various technologies. I believe we
> can able to create index for the PDF files using PDFBOX and able to search
> the index alone for a keyword in all the PDF files using acrobat reader or
> any pdf reader.
>
> A method is needed to get called to pass the list of PDF objects and the path
> to create the index.
