It isn't as simple as it seems due to the fact that the whole implementation is
very complex and those parts (COS, XRef and bruteforce) are glued to another.
I've stopped my own efforts in favour of doing some refactorings first. It
looks like we are going to dump Preflight with 4.0.0 and that would give us
another chance to simplify the COSParser.
IMHO we should wait to make it easier but I won't stop you if you want to come
up with a proposal ;-)
