I think this has been fixed since even the rc1 release of PDFBox 3.0.0 (April
2021)? I can't reproduce it with {{java -jar pdfbox-app-3.0.0-RC1.jar
export:text -i loop_in_page_tree.pdf -o out.txt}} or later releases of 3.x. I
correctly get an error message.
Not sure when this was fixed in 2.x. I'm not able to reproduce it with the
latest 2.x release: {{java -jar ~/Downloads/pdfbox-app-2.0.32.jar ExtractText
~/Downloads/loop_in_page_tree.pdf out.txt}}
