Could you create a minimal example, i.e. with specific characters that trigger
the problem with that font? I agree with you but I'm surprised that this hasn't
occurred before, this code has been there since its contribution in 2012. I
looked at the test coverage and the problematic {{glyphIds.add()}} is used.
What jdk are you using?
I can't comment on your question at this time, I would have to understand the
code first. (I removed the code you mention and one of our tests failed)
Re PDFBOX-5918 in your mailing list text, that code was never committed because
the user never answered. (Which is quite mysterious)
