Question about native memory lifecycle in PDType0Font

Hi,
I'm investigating a memory growth issue related to PDType0Font and FreeType.
I found an old comment attributed to Tilman Hausherr saying:
"The memory allocated by FreeType will only be freed when the JVM exits."
Can you confirm if this is still accurate for PDFBox 3.x?
