Just letting people know that I have created an issue regarding setting up
github tag protection rules

For those not aware of this feature, github tag protection rules allows us
to make git tags immutable (as long as they follow a pattern which in our
case would be v*.*.* i.e. v.1.0.0). More specifically, only
admins/committers can create (ergo push) git tags and once a git tag has
been pushed only admins can edit/delete them. In the context of asf admins
are asfinfra
