Thanks Seeta. Right now, there are too few active Pekko contributors. Taking stuff in Apache is harder than having an outside group or individual do the fork. Apache projects require: * code grants - explicit permission from the original authors to let us have the code * all the branding needs to change * votes required - in Pekko community and Incubator community
There are other Akka community projects and some people will want them ported to Pekko too. In the end, we have to draw some lines or we will never release anything. The priority is Akka projects where the license was changed to non-OSS Business Software License. Other people might have a different opinion but I will be voting no on projects like akka-persistence-inmemory.
