I thought I'd mention - the changes in mod_perl-2 made since I was having this trouble seem to have fixed this. I still get some warnings running the tests on 5.6.1 concerning accessing some memory (of which I'll try to get further information), but all tests still pass. On 5.8 (RC2) all tests pass without such warnings.
