FWIW, my development box I updated to Apache 1.3.28, and my app doesn't seem to have the unceremonious disconnects to postgres that you observed. I haven't updated our production web server to apache 1.3.28 yet, though, so I don't know if it will fail under heavier load. I'm still running mod_perl 1.27_01-dev on both.
Okay. I found that I got the problem with mp1.27 and mp1.28, but only with Apache 1.3.28, not with 1.3.27.
I was very concerned when you posted the original note, and have been attempting to pound on it a bit to make it fail without success (or with success, depending on how you look at it :-)
I'm attempting to isolate the problem now.
