Hi Sun, Support for UDFs would be great (see PHOENIX-538) if someone would like to contribute this. We'd need a way of disabling them too, though, IMO.
Adding your own built-in function is pretty easy too, though. See http://phoenix-hbase.blogspot.com/2013/04/how-to-add-your-own-built-in-function.html If you need a standard SQL function, just implement it (including unit tests), and send us a pull request.
