+1 on the patch. Please commit to 3.0, 4.0, and master branch. I agree, it's
difficult to detect these leaks. I think we should make an effort to be
"warning free", as I suspect there were warnings for resources not being freed.
If not, then using find-bugs may help too.
That's a good idea too for identifying where the tmp file was created. Perhaps
in the tmp file name, though, and not the extension.
