Attachment: PHOENIX-1899.patch
Attached patch that creates an iterator that calls scanner.next() in the
constructor. This helps us in doing parallel I/O for fetching the first batch.
[~jamestaylor] - please review when you get a chance. Tests passed locally for
me.
