Parent uses skip scanning to optimize DISTINCT and certain GROUP BY operations
along the row key.
COUNT queries are optimized differently, could be sped up significantly as well.
[~giacomotaylor], I might need to help into where COUNT(DISTINCT) queries are
planned and optimized.
