I'll add that test.

Let's do the other optimization in another jira. I'd like to keep this one 
contained.
I was thinking about that one too. That requires that we absolutely trust the 
DistinctPrefixFilter to never let any duplicates through. Pretty sure that is 
the case, but up to this point it is not required, since we always run it 
through a DISTINCT anyway.
