[~giacomotaylor] I defer to the fellas actually suffering the pain, the fellas
who trying to make this run on linux and windows -- Jeffrey Zhong and Enis. I
made a suggestion above but I have close to zero experience in this area.
Making the start scripts in hbase python would be fine by me on the one hand
but on the other, we have a ruby shell with .rb scripts in our bin dir; adding
another script language type (and dependency) would be a bit messy IMO (but if
it saved a few fellas pain, why not?)
