I agree, [~enis] - in fact I just created a new branch for the type system
work. I'm hoping [~ndimiduk] has cycles to work on this. However, in the short
term, how about a Hive option to export HFiles that are Phoenix-compliant?
You'd just need to use our org.apache.phoenix.schema.PDataType to serialize the
data instead of using the HBase Bytes utility methods.
