I agree with Daniel.  PIG-2973 does best when pig is run against a version of 
Hadoop core with Windows fixes.  I don't think it would offer as much value to 
the community until we have a release branch of Hadoop so that there is a 
combination of release branches that can be documented to accomplish this goal 
for devs/users.
