I would expect Maven users to be used to that (being stifled, hindered, and 
annoyed, that is).  ;-)  But I guess it is OK to leave it as is. Just to 
confirm - given the following JAR file:

  pivot-core-1.5.jar

The Maven convention for source is:

  pivot-core-1.5-sources.jar

Is that correct?
