Some enhancements to clear and clearSelection methods, in some components ...
note that in some cases these are new methods.
I'll add the same even for remaining components (mostly Buttons), if possible
in 2.0.x, otherwise in 2.1 .
To see the new behaviour run the test case for the original issue: Pivot694.java
Unless objections I'll commit this in a few days.
