For our custom application we would like more control over the look and feel of
the pivot alerts.
Currently, to change the alert border colors you must globally change the Pivot
theme colors - this has knock on effects to other Pivot UI.
It would be useful, as a minimum, if the alert message border color /
background colors are exposed. This would allow us to override the default
colors globally for our application.
I have made the required changes to trunk and will submit a proposed patch.
