First phase of Input Method Editor support in TextInput. There are some cursor
movement issues when there is composed (but not committed) text present, but
the basics are there:

NOTE: this does NOT resolve the issue with inserting symbols / emoji on OSX....
But Japanese input on OSX does work as expected!
