Hi Johan,

as Chris stated we had multiple discussions about "complex types" (e.g.
together with @Matthias Strljic).
But it would be good to describe a bit better what you exactly mean then we
should at least consider it for 0.6, I think.

    Hi Johan,

sorry for the late response ... it sort of managed to drop just outside the
top of the email list.

Let me double-check and summarize what I understood what you are asking for:
    - You have some sort of "structure" you want to read in multiple locations
(memory blocks and PLCs)?
    - You would now like to sort of say: Please read this Structure from
PLC1-MemoryBlock1, PLC1-MemoryBlock5 and PLC2-MemoryBlock2 ?

Right now this would not be possible. But it is on our sort of roadmap as I
know Julian asked for something similar several times.
It is definitely on our Todo list, however this list is sort of "subject to
change" quite actively.

For the time-being I would suggest to write a little piece of code that
generates the configuration for such a case ... would that be an option?

If I totally misunderstood your question, please correct me.

    Chris

        Hi,

We are currently trying out the Kafka Connector for PLC4X.

At the moment we don't have our own solution for generating
JSON-objects of the addresses and fields in the PLCs that we want to extract,
we define them manually.

Is there an alternative way to map the different fields to different
addresses, than explicitly map each field with one address in the configuration
for the connector? With ranges or something like that?

        Hope I'm making sense.

        Br, Johan.
