Hello PLC4X developers, I'm an undergraduate student studying Automation, with an interest in control systems, industrial communication protocols, and open-source software. My GitHub username is dongxuelian2.
I recently submitted PR #2828 to address the OPC UA username-token encoding issue reported in #2791. The patch corrects the encoding of unencrypted username tokens when the effective user-token security policy is None, and includes protocol regression tests and interoperability checks against an asyncua server. I used OpenAI Codex to assist with the implementation and testing, as disclosed in the PR. My background is primarily academic rather than hands-on industrial PLC deployment, and I do not want to imply otherwise. I am interested in contributing to well-scoped issues where I can investigate behavior, provide reproducible tests, and address review feedback. I cannot promise regular contributions, but I am willing to follow through on this patch. I understand that reviewing external contributions requires maintainer time, and I appreciate your consideration. Best regards, dongxuelian2 PR: https://github.com/apache/plc4x/pull/2828
