The PPT binary format only supports .mpg and .avi movies.

Here is a test case that adds a .mpg movie:
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/poi/trunk/src/scratchpad/testcases/org/apache/poi/hslf/model/TestMovieShape.java

SWF is inserted as a ActiveX object. HSLF can read ActiveX shapes
(see ActiveXShape objects in the collection of shapes), but can't
insert new ActiveX objects. The hardest part here is to support
reading / writing active X properties. The path to implement
embedding SWF is:

 - download the Microsoft Office File Formats documentation:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc313118.aspx
 - do reverse engineering of ppt files with embedded SWF and figure
out what bits you need to set
