Hi Nick,
I did try my sample program on JRE 1.6 with POI library 3.11 binary of
December, 2014. It completes successfully and writes a XLSX to the file system
accepted by MS Excel.
So far so good. It seems POI release 3.11 having solved the issue delivered
with release 3.10.1. For your reference, I did update from release 3.8 to
3.10.1 in order to run into the issue. The XSLX file created with release 3.8
had been fine.
Does hat give you a clue where to look at in release 3.10.1?
