Simply unzip the .pptx and check the /.../media folder for your file. if yes, what's the difference in the .xml? compare slide1.xml (POI vs. Powerpoint) as I haven't tested yet your provided movie, my bet is, that powerpoint can play your movie, but there might be better codecs for it. btw. I've tested the example with Powerpoint Viewer and Powerpoint 2016, which were ok. Libre Office couldn't recognize the trimming stuff.
