The current trunk is intended for a 4.0.0 release. We have significant changes in there, including making Java 8 the lowest supported runtime. If we want to release 3.18, we would need to branch from 3.17 release point and cherry pick the most useful bug fixes. 4.0.0 is awaiting a few things before we can release it. * getting xmlbeans up and running again * uptaking the commons-compress changes for Zip Bombs that should hopefully be released soon
