Apache Polaris 1.3.0-incubating introduces two major capabilities: Iceberg Metrics Reporting for monitoring table operations and query performance, and Open Policy Agent (OPA) integration for centralized authorization and complex policy management. The release also enhances catalog federation with improved authentication options and location-based access controls, while removing legacy management endpoints and the deprecated EclipseLink persistence implementation.
