Hi All, I believe this was discussed in previous Community meetings.
PR [4397] proposes to remove MetricsPersistence from BasePersistence's set of extended interfaces. I think this PR is pretty solid, despite the fact that more refactoring and SPI clarifications are possible in that area. I propose merging it on June 1 if no concerns are raised.
