Niclas Hedhman commented on POLYGENE-49:
----------------------------------------
The Yeoman generator creates projects with a BootstrapTest, in which the
application model will be printed to System.out as JSON. That is a first step
towards solving this issue.

> Getting help on assembly issues isn't easy. Currently, one has to provide the
> application assembly code that can span several files. Not really convenient.
> The [Envisage Tool|https://zest.apache.org/java/latest/tools-envisage.html]
> allow to browse an application assembly at runtime and to export the assembly
> as PDFs. This is excellent but having something that export assembly info as
> a copy/paste-able text format would greatly ease the process.
> Moreover, Envisage require a graphical context and user interaction. The Qi4j
> SDK should provide a shorter path to get a full report of application
> assembly.
> On the road to 2.0 we already extracted non UI code from Envisage into the
> tools/model-detail module. This module should be improved to provide, at
> least, a simple service that output the whole Application Model on
> application start in a copy/paste-able text format either to stdout or to a
> file.
