Hi Noayuki, all,

Hi Sophie,

If we use TCM for smoke test, I believe option 1 is simpler than option 2.
TCM developer (Karl Hong) says next version of TCM will have the capability
to utilize the priority of each test case so that we can choose cases
based on it. (like smoke test execute only P1 cases, and full test execute P1-P3)
But upgrading OO.o TCM system itself will happen after 2.0 release.

Ok, I understand, and no problem for me wether it's 1st or 2nd option. I didn't know that test cases have priorities, I learn it today :)

So what we need for now is conversion from smoke test cases to TCM test
case format and create 'Smoke' category. If someone can volunteer to do
this, it's greatly appreciated.

Well I think that we are (at least Khirano, Andre and me) volunteering to populate the smoke test category. What we don't know currently and we have to decide it, is what will be the smoke test cases for 2.0 : if we will do the same as for 1.x releases, if we only update them, or if we create new ones. Some of them are also duplicated by the l10n test cases, so what do we do as they won't belong to the same category ? That won't be easy for your team to sort what is l10n and what is not, in an other hand we would like to avoid duplicating the work for our testers.

So, if we agree on this, may be we should first decide what we will do and how, and then come back to you to see how we could upload the test in the TCM category. Khirano, Andre, you're thoughts ?

Kind regards
Sophie
