Greetings:

I've decided to join, as an after-the-fact action, the qa mailing list.

I've been with the Mac OS X porting team for a while and decided that I
would best fit in as a builder/tester to insure that the best quality
product is produced for the Mac OS X platform and to insure that fixes
for other platforms do not induce problems with it.

My background:

I have been working with computers since 1976.
I have tested StarOffice for OS/2.
I have tested everything from simple programs that I designed/built to
complete operating systems for fun and profit (I was employed at one
time as a software tester.)
I believe that OpenOffice.org and StarOffice have much to offer, as I do
to them.

I have already smoketested 2.0.1rc5 for Mac OS X in the English US
release and confirmed problems found in other localized versions.

What I propose to bring to this project: There are no functionality
test cases for the Calc program other than opening an older
version/other version spreadsheet. I find that a complete functionality
test of Writer will not suffice to ensure that Calc will completely
function as it should. A series of tests should be
developed/tested/incorporated into the smoketesting that is done to
insure that no regressions (old problems coming back on a new release)
or new problems occur before a milestone/alpha/beta/release
candidate/final is posted for this function.

I also post on the posting development/Mac OS X porting mailing lists.

James
