no .. it's not exactly the same.
While the testtool runs many more testcases than thos in the Smoktetest
/ Assertion test area, they are "just" automated tests.
So .. all they can do is, to check if OOo fails if you follow a given
path without going left or right even a nanometer.
Whe real people ar going through the manual tests there is one component
dirctly involved: your brain. Of cours, the developers of the automates
scripts are going to test as much situations as possible .. but .. you'l
never be able to test all the ideas of a user.
So .. what you can leave out from th smoketests is at least the stupit
"see if file opens" tests .. these are covered by the testtool very well.
