Dear project members (and leads),
as written in the subject, I am (or better we are) looking for a new
project lead at the QA project.
This is due to the fact that I need to retire from my position. I'll
need to spend some more time outside OOo (for my job and private
issues), leaving less time for OOo. In fact within the recent weeks and
months I even had not the time to care about the QA project and pressing
issues thay I should have cared about.
I will not leave the OOo-project completely, but need to focus on
smaller items (e.g. qa for German localisation only).
Reading our project guideline, transitioning from one lead to another
should be a smooth affair, as I am encouraged to nominate a successor.
I'm sure (no, I know), we have members who have the knowledge and
support of the communtiy to take the project lead role. Unfortunately
all the people I asked, rejected due to similar reasons (not enough time
to fill the role).
So I ask for suggestions here at the list. If you have somebody in mind,
who could take the role, please nomitate him (or her) for an election.
(You might nominate yourself indeed). Please send nominations until
Tuesday (11/28). Nominees need to confirm that they would accept to be
the QA lead.
As soon as we have nominees, we will start a public vote at the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
list.
I hope, the transistion can be a smooth affair this way ;-)
Although I'm not retiring now, I'd like to thank the QA team members for
all the work. Esp. the teams of the native lang projects, the QA team of
the mac port (it was impressive to see this team starting to work) and
the QA team at Sun (who is really open for collaboration).
And thanks to Joost for his great work as Co Lead.
